Electrostatic Grounding Unit EGT

Why is Electrostatic Grounding important?
- To prevent uncontrolled electrostatic discharges which could lead to ignition hazardous when loading and unloading flammable liquids and powder from:
- Road trucks
- Rail wagons
- Containers
- Drums
- Bags

Ex Solution - EGT
- Continuous testing of grounding quality
- Indication of false ground
- Simple to install and use
- Isolated clamp holder
- Robust construction
- Infra-red IrDA communication available
- Wide ambient temperature range -55 °C to +60 °C
- IP65

EGT - Versions
- Single channel version — EGT 4
- Two channel version — EGT 6
- EGT 6 allows concurrent grounding of two similar or two various objects in vapour and dust environments.
- Indication using Green and Red LED lights
- Output relays
- 2 per channel
- voltage free contacts
- COM, NO and NC
Grounding Unit - EGT 4
For continuous electrostatic grounding of trucks, wagons, containers and big bags when loading and unloading ensuring safe operation.
- ATEX, IECEx Certified
- Grounding Channels - 1
- Continuous testing of grounding quality and false ground
- Simple to install and use
Grounding Unit - EGT 6
For continuous electrostatic grounding of trucks, wagons, containers and big bags when loading and unloading ensuring safe operation.
- ATEX, IECEx Certified
- Grounding Channels - 2
- Continuous testing of grounding quality and false ground
- Simple to install and use

Accessories

- Arctic cable with clamp -55 °Cto+ 60 °C
- Spiral cable with clamp -30 °C to + 60 °C
- Self-retracting reel 15 m cable with clamp -20 °C to + 60 °C
- Clamps made from stainless steel with copper points

Configuring the EGT
- The EGT can easily be configure to the object that needs to be electrostatically grounded
- either by using software on a PC
- or using the EDA Display Unit

Operation — Road Tanker
- A filling arm must NOT be connected directly to a tanker without grounding — risk of spark!
- First clamp the EGT lead to the tanker to safely discharge the electrostatic charge
- Wait for the Green light on the EGT indicating correct electrostatic ground
- It is now safe to connect the filling arm and start loading fuel safely
- Make sure that the Green light is always ON

Indication — Road Tanker
- Green Light - the tanker is connected to the ETG and the impedance is 50 0 to 3000 0 - output relay is closed
- Green Light - the ETG clamp is connected directly to the earthing point of the structure after being connected to the tanker - output relay is closed
- Red Light — the ETG clamp is not connected to a tanker — output relay is open
- or the clamp is on the ground
